They say in order to find yourself you have to go home.
What if home was what you’re running from?
Where did that leave you?
Always on the other side of the fence.
Always looking in.
Always wishing you were someone you couldn’t be.
Until one day you meet her.
She was my high, but she was also…
Crave Me is a love story but not like any love story i have ever read before. Crave Me is book #4 in The Good Ol’ Boys series.
I was introduced to this series a few months ago just in time to get and read the first three books (Complicate me, Forbid me, and Undo Me) with only a little time to wait for Crave Me’s release date.
I loved all three books but while reading, the character of Austen always grabbed my attention so to say i was on pins and needles waiting for this book to come out is a huge understatement?
There is a scene in Complicate Me between Alex ( her story is the first book Complicate Me) and Austen that completely broke my heart and had me on pins and needles. When i started Crave Me i was surprised to find the story (after the mysterious first chapter) started with Austen being a kid. So the scene between him and Alex was retold only in Austen’s point of view. I loved that. I loved how M. Robinson took us back and made us re-experience everything all over again.
I was sad to watch Austen’s (one of my favorite characters) life spiral out of control. (That’s what M. Robinson’s writing is like. She literally makes you feel like your on the sidelines watching the devastation take form right in front of you.)
This book does include excessive drug use so if that is a trigger for you i recommend you not read this book due to the fact that drug use is everywhere and this is the story of an addict.
I’ve just talked mainly about Austen but this book is also a story about Briggs (Daisy). Her story was told starting at the age of six and onward. Her story was just as devastating.
I’m not even going to get into any detail because anything i would say about Briggs’s story would be a spoiler.
I loved this series but i felt like Crave Me was the realist book i have ever read. It’s full of angst and devastation but also happiness and moments that made you laugh. That is M. Robinson though. She makes you feel like everything is okay and on the right path and then BAM….the rug gets pulled out from under your feet and you fall flat on your face. So if you are wanting to read a series that is realer than most i would recommend this series but especially Crave Me to you.
If you have read Crave Me and want to talk about it or let me know how you liked it leave me a comment 🙂
Now i’m going to try to get over the horrible book hangover that Crave Me has left me in!!!
