Synopsis
Meet Colton Wade, FMX rider…
I’m just a small town guy who caught a lucky break. Now I’m living the dream, on the brink of high-flying super-stardom. But something’s missing.
That something is Taylor.
She’s my best friend. The one who makes me want to push harder and higher. The one I fall back on when shit gets tough. The one I’d give it all up for.
I’d do anything to protect her. To make her dreams come true too.
But a single night changes everything.
And now the one she needs protection from…is me.
My Thoughts:
This is a first time read from Author Molly McLain and i have to say i was happy to take the chance on this series. If you like Tijan’s novels i highly suggest you give the Velocity series a chance! This is a best friends to lovers series so if that’s what your looking for then i highly recommend this!
Fly is the first book in the Velocity series. This story follows two best friends Taylor and Colton. Taylor and Colton have been best friends since they were kids. Now Colton is a FMX rider and Taylor is a woman on a mission to take her life back. On there journey to find who they are and accomplishing their goals Taylor and Colton find that they have deep feelings for each other. Though they try to stay on their sides of the line in their relationship the chemistry builds and sparks fly making the situation uncontrollable.
I love Friends to lovers novels. There is something about crossing that line and worrying whether the characters can still keep their friendship but also venture into these new uncharted territories and come out with there relationship being stronger than ever or crumbling into dust.
I enjoyed Taylor’s sarcastic attitude and the kindness that is ultimately her. She is also extremely loyal when it comes to her close friends and that is a trait i admire in the main characters that grace the pages of the novels i read. She would do anything for her friends and family. I also enjoyed Colton’s need to be the best ‘no-matter-what’ and ‘consequences be damned’. He’s a now-a-days rebel without a cause.
Be warned this does end with a cliffhanger…. but….that’s okay because the second novel in the series ‘Fight’ just came out!
Peace, Love, and Happy Reading,
Alecia @ The Staircase Reader
