Book Haul

April Book Haul

I know, I know. I just did a book haul…..Well here comes another one.

It was a beautiful day today so my boyfriend and I decided to go cruising. Long story short we ended up at Barnes and Noble….big surprise there-haha.

I may have went way over my budget this month! Overall, I spent $40 and some change. That’s not bad for the amount of books I walked out with!

So let’s get started.

The first two (technically 4) books I bought at list price.

Lick & Play

Lick & Play by Kylie Scott

Synopsis:

The first two novels in Kylie Scott’s Stage Dive series! Get ready to rock, all night long…

LICK
Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. But she sure never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. One thing is certain: being married to one of the hottest rock stars on the planet is sure to be a wild ride.

PLAY
Mal Ericson, drummer for the world-famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job fine, but he didn’t count on finding the right girl. Anne Rollins never thought she’d meet the rock god who plastered her bedroom walls―especially not under these circumstances. Being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. Or could it?

Lead & Deep

Lead & Deep by Kylie Scott

Synopsis:

Rock on with these final two novels in Kylie Scott’s Stage Dive series!

LEAD
As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is caught up in a life of hard partying and fast women. When a PR disaster lands him in rehab, he finds himself with Lena, a new assistant hired to keep him out of trouble. Lena’s determined to keep their relationship professional, despite their sizzling chemistry. Can Jimmy convince her to mix business with pleasure―and follow her heart?

DEEP
Positive. With two lines on a pregnancy test, Lizzy Rollins’s ordinary life is about to change forever―all because of one mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the sexy bass player for Stage Dive. When Ben is forced to keep the one girl he has a weakness for out of trouble, he learns that what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there… Now he and Lizzy are connected in the deepest way possible. Will it lead too a connection of the heart?

Now onto the Used books!!!

Mia Kelly thinks she has it all figured out. She’s an Ivy League graduate, a classically trained pianist, and the beloved daughter of a sensible mother and offbeat father. Yet Mia has been stalling since graduation, torn between putting her business degree to use and exploring music, her true love.

When her father unexpectedly dies, she decides to pick up the threads of his life while she figures out her own. Uprooting herself from Ann Arbor to New York City, Mia takes over her father’s cafe, a treasured neighborhood institution that plays host to undiscovered musicians and artists. She’s denied herself the thrilling and unpredictable life of a musician, but a chance encounter with Will, a sweet, gorgeous, and charming guitarist, offers her a glimpse of what could be. When Will becomes her friend and then her roommate, she does everything in her power to suppress her passions—for him, for music—but her father’s legacy slowly opens her heart to the possibility of something more.

Saving Dancer by Jordan Marie

Carrie

I’ve been in love with Jacob Blake since he picked me up in his strong arms. He held me close and promised me everything would be okay. I knew then, I had met the man who would own my heart forever.

I was five years old.

As the years went by, the need and longing for Jacob only increased—at least on my side. Jacob has never seen me as more than his kid sister’s best friend.

I’ve spent my life chasing after Jacob and trying to make him see I’m more than just his sister’s little friend. I never dreamed that by trying to show Jacob how much I loved him, I would also destroy him.

One night…one night that held so much promise, but ultimately destroyed the man I love and broke him in so many pieces, that I don’t know if he can be mended back together.

Jacob “Dancer” Blake

I’m finally home. Out of the hell hole I had been trapped in since killing another man. With the thrust of my knife everything changed.

That night I ended two lives, the scum who had been trying to rape my little sister’s friend… and my own. The other man got the easier out. I live and breathe in a hell I’ll never escape.

My brothers look at me with pity in their eyes. It cuts my insides out.

There’s trouble in the club, trouble all around us and I have to get my head straight. I have to be able to help them. Trouble is, I can’t even help myself. I just keep piling the mistakes up.

Carrie just might be my biggest mistake yet.

Now it’s another night that’s haunting me–a night that I keep repeating even if I shouldn’t.

I’m so trapped in the darkness that I can’t stop myself from going back because she is light.

She wants to save me. You can’t save something as lost as I am.

I’m going to destroy her.

I’ve warned her. Now I’ll show her

People know that she’s reliable, serious, proper, cautious, pragmatic, and yes, a little predictable. She’s who Dave and her family want her to be.

But as her thirtieth birthday looms, buried feelings begin to resurrect. Her friend takes her to Vegas for one last wild and crazy night. In a dress much shorter and sexier than anything she has ever dared to wear before, she hits the blackjack tables. And meets him. Under the tailored clothes it’s clear that this is a man who is intense, powerful, and maybe even a little dangerous. With a touch of trepidation she accepts his invitation to get a drink, and before long, she’s in his hotel room.

She never gets his full name. Perhaps his anonymity is one of the reasons she’s able to give herself over to him and to the moment so completely. Perhaps it’s why she’s just had the most exquisite and passionate sex of her life. Shaken by her own behavior, Kasie tries to chalk it up to one crazy night. But when the mysterious gentleman she’s just had a fling with shows up in her office—as the CEO of a firm her company does a billion dollars of business with a year, demanding that she handle his account, and so much more—things will never be the same again. And there’s no telling where this will go…

All Played Out (Rusk University, #3)

All Played Out by Cora Carmack

Synopsis:

First person in her family to go to college? CHECK.
Straight A’s? CHECK.
On track to graduate early? CHECK.
Social life? …..yeah, about that….

With just a few weeks until she graduates, Antonella DeLuca’s beginning to worry that maybe she hasn’t had the full college experience. (Okay… Scratch that. She knows she hasn’t had the full college experience).

So Nell does what a smart, dedicated girl like herself does best. She makes a “to do” list of normal college activities.

Item #1? Hook up with a jock.

Rusk University wide receiver Mateo Torres practically wrote the playbook for normal college living. When he’s not on the field, he excels at partying, girls, and more partying. As long as he keeps things light and easy, it’s impossible to get hurt… again. But something about the quiet, shy, sexy-as-hell Nell gets under his skin, and when he learns about her list, he makes it his mission to help her complete it.

Torres is the definition of confident (And sexy. And wild), and he opens up a side of Nell that she’s never known. But as they begin to check off each crazy, exciting, normal item, Nell finds that her frivolous list leads to something more serious than she bargained for. And while Torres is used to taking risks on the field, he has to decide if he’s willing to take the chance when it’s more than just a game.

Together they will have to decide if what they have is just part of the experiment or a chance at something real.
