Blurb:

Bull riding is all Gavin’s known for years, but when it’s time to retire, he can’t let go of the reckless lifestyle. He finds a job that brings him to a small-town Texas ranch and face-to-face with the woman who snuck out after their one-night stand.

She can pretend she’s over him, but he’s not letting her go that easily.

Maize Bishop spends her days cooking and baking for her family’s bed and breakfast. The last thing she has time for is a relationship, especially when there are no single men within a hundred-mile radius. When a mysterious newcomer flirts with her over drinks, she gives in to his mesmerizing green eyes and goes home with him.

Now that he works for her family’s ranch, she’ll avoid him at all costs.

There are only so many places to hide, and keeping her distance is easier said than done. After months of giving her space, Gavin’s tired of waiting for Maize to admit what he knows they both want—a second round between the sheets. It may only take eight seconds to win a championship, but he’ll prove to her that he can go all night long.

She’s too young, he’s too arrogant, and together, they’re electric—the perfect recipe for disaster.

My Review

Kennedy Fox soars when writing swoony western themed small town romances. Every damn time I see a ‘Bishop related’ romance I know I’m going to be head over boots in love with it. These cowboys/ranchers are going to be the death of me….. But what a way to go!

In My Own Words:

Wrangling The Cowboy is the third book in the Circle B Ranch Series by Kennedy Fox. This second chance/age gap romance revolves around Maize Bishop and her love interest Gavin. This story is told from both Maize and Gavin’s point of view.

One night, feeling dejected and ready to give up on love, Maize did something that is so unlike her normal. She fell into the arms of a cowboy passing through town and threw her inhibitions out the window. One night of pleasure was all she wanted. In no way was she prepared for ever seeing the rambling cowboy again. Until one night, he comes storming his way back into her life, as one of her Uncle Jackson’s bull riding trainers. Having been hurt from a previous relationship, Maize ignores the endless array of possibilities that stand in front of her.

Gavin is ready to set down roots, and in no way did he ever see himself planting roots in a town unfamiliar to him. That all changed the moment he met Maize Bishop at the bar. One single glance, one touch, and his heart had found its home.

My Thoughts:

I’ve been waiting for this one for the longest time!!! Maize Bishop is the chef at the B&B, she’s the only one not interested in finding love and settling down. She’s got an independent streak a mile wide. She wears a shield of armor and her heart locked up tight. Heartbreak will easily do that to a person… I loved Maize for who she is. She’s a master at her craft and she’s willing to do everything in her power to achieve her dreams.

Matching Maize up with Gavin was PERFECT! In all honesty, I didn’t know how this ten year age gap would settle with me. But given the fact that Maize is a bit on the old soul side of the spectrum, she fit Gavin flawlessly. Sure, she made him work for it and at times her fears of the relationship unknowns felt a tad bit childish at times, but in an odd way, it worked for her.

I loved the fact that Gavin made Maize work for their relationship just as hard as he worked through the past year. I loved his swoony ways and his slightly cocky vibes. There was no doubt in my mind that he would turn down his one true love, so in these moments, I sat back and enjoyed watching the heroine have to work for the relationship. It was a nice change.

Of course, I loved the glimpses of all the OG Bishops! I loved seeing where Alex, Evan, John, and Jackson are at in their lives. I loved all the wild antics! But in my mind, It’s going to be hard to top Maize and Gavin’s story. All the feels and all the swoony vibes live within this novel. Seriously, what’s not to love about a retired professional bull rider finding love and planting his own set of roots. This man had my heart hammering in my chest.

Do I recommend this novel?

That’s an easy HELL YEAH!!!!

Wrangling The Cowboy can be read as a standalone.. But… if you are like me, and like to get the whole picture… I recommend reading the BIshop Brothers series and then going into the Circle B Ranch series. The Circle B Ranch series is a second generation spinoff… Trust me when I say, reading the books before Wrangling The Cowboy is no hardship. Sexy, Swoony Cowboys…. SIGN ME UP!!!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
