The Best of Us is a best friend’s brother, opposites attract, and snowed-in together standalone romance.

My Review

I’m going to throw caution to the wind and state the first thing on my mind. I was NOT expecting this book and this outcome. After reading the first book in the ‘Love in Isolation’ series by Kennedy Fox, I thought with that book, the same thing would apply with this book. A new couple stuck together in quarantine and finding love within the confines of four walls. And, god’s honest truth, I was dreading the story line…… The famous saying goes, when you assume you make an ass out of you and me… and I made an ass out of myself by not reading this book sooner!!! If you are avoiding this book because you think it’s another quarantine tale… THINK AGAIN! This isn’t the tale I assumed it would be, This book was so much more!!

First of all, I absolutely adored this novel and the characters. I loved the best friend’s older brother vibe. I loved the fact that Ryan, a workaholic doctor, was forced, by the elements, to take time from his workaholic schedule. I loved the fact that these two hopelessly devoted characters were snowed in, without power and hours away from civilization. What can I say, I’m a sucker for ‘snowed-in’ novels!

As always, my most favorite thing about reading romance is when fate intervenes and causes chaos. Kendall has had a crush on her best friend’s older brother since the start, but she never acted on those feelings. Same for Ryan. Now the two are forced to expose the feelings that have always been hiding beneath the surface! The question of the day, will love in isolation still exist when they go out to the real world? Hmmm, I guess you’ll have to read Ryan and Kendall’s story to find out. 🙂

Now onto the reasoning behind my rating.

I decided to rate this novel a four star instead of a full five star due to a few moments being rushed. I needed a bit more emotion from certain key moments.

It took me, only, a few hours to devour The Best Of Us by Kennedy Fox. I was swept away and whisked off to a cabin in a blizzard for a few hours, I can’t complain! Ryan and Kendall were everything I expected them to be. I loved their vibes and I loved the slow burning sexual tension. I really enjoyed this novel!
