My Review

I am loving the fact that M. Robinson is FINALLY diving into the wonderful world of romantic comedies! I have been waiting for this moment and she executed the genre flawlessly!! I laughed so freaking hard I was actually crying!!! I can’t wait to see where she takes this rom com journey next.

In My Own Words:

The Kiss is the first standalone romance in M. Robinson’s Playboy Pact series. This novel is told from both Mila and Leo’s point of view. Hang on to your hearts, they’re about to get swept away with this best friends to lovers romance!

Leo’s roots grow in Tennessee and there is nowhere on the earth he can imagine himself being. From the time he was a child his life was pretty much mapped out for him. He would go to college and then he’d step up and run his family’s business and he wouldn’t allow himself to dream any bigger than that. All he needed to be happy is the Tennessee air and his best friend, Mila, by his side.

But Mila has dreams far greater than the beauty of Tennessee. She dreams of one day leaving the sleepy town and seeing the world with her own eyes. So when a proposition comes to her from Leo’s best friend, Cain, she can’t very well turn it down. It’s her opportunity to explore and live her life outside of Tennessee….. She can’t turn it down, but what if something, or someone, asked her to stay. Would she stay?

My Thoughts:

Lord have mercy on my heart. I can’t even begin to break down for you all how much I loved Mila and Leo! These two are a dynamic duo. I loved their relationship from the friendship aspect all the way through to merging into romantic territory. I knew from the very first chapter I was going to swoon over these two!

I loved Mila’s ‘one of the boys’ but still a ‘girly girl’ vibe. I loved her feisty vibe throughout the novel. She definitely had to be sassy to hang around with four egomaniac induced males. She threw back just as much as they dished out and I loved every bit of it!!! I also loved the fact that Leo, the Playboy Pact initiator and bragger of his manwhore ways, was the first man to get hit with the love bug!!

I don’t know how it’s possible, but I think M. Robinson just discovered a genre all on her own. She managed to bring me to tears in so many ways and not just from laughter alone. You see, The Queen of Angst, managed to slip in some angsty moments that tore at my heartstrings and had me hoping for the best but expecting the worst… In other words, I was Team Leo from the start, and watching him fight with his own feelings really brought a whole new element to his character and made me love him that much more.

Overall, I thought The Kiss was a perfect way for M. Robinson to tread the Rom-angst-Com genre! She continues to bring stories full of Heart and stories full of Heat! Never a dull moment when it came to Mila and Leo’s story. But now I’m curious, how is she going to top this one because in my mind, Mila and Leo’s story is GOLD! I am definitely looking forward to seeing what journey she takes this series on! I can hardly wait!!
