Blurb:

There’s one girl you don’t mess with at Prescott High, not unless you want them to come for you.

Those dirty, rotten Havoc Boys might be a gang to everyone else, but they’re family to me.

My f*ckbuddy. My first love. My husband. My challenger. My confidante.

There’s trouble brewing in the halls of our high school, and it’s spilling into the streets.
Once upon a time, Havoc held Prescott in an iron grip.
But for senior year, we want the whole goddamn city.

This year, we’ll have to drop bodies if we want to own the underground.
Good thing that’s something we excel at.
The Havoc Boys are artists, their brushes made of bone, their paint a brilliant ruby red.

One Havoc Girl for five Havoc Boys.
I wear the crown; I warm their beds; I hold their leashes.
We’re going to take back our school, our city, our lives—I’m just praying to whatever vengeful god will listen that the price for all of that doesn’t cost me a letter in our dark acronym.

My Review

Mayhem At Prescott High is the third book in The Havoc Boys series by C.M. Stunich. This book is not a standalone and should be read after reading Havoc At Prescott High and Chaos At Prescott High. Trust me, you don’t want to miss all of the dangers lurking around every page turn! The stakes are even higher and deadlier for the Havoc Crew. Now they’re not only looking at having to take down a whole crew, but they also have to take down what looks to be a child trafficking ring on top of it all in the name of protecting Bernadette’s life and keeping Victor’s inheritance out of his evil mother’s clutches.

I’m not going to lie and say I loved everything about this specific novel, the first half of Mayhem At Prescott High dragged on a bit too slow for me. Given the first two books in the series, I expected this one to be pedal to the metal adrenaline at the start of the gate and in a way it was a bit of a slow burn. I don’t usually mind a slow burn where the action is concerned, but with this book and this series I want all the raw grit and danger filled vibes! However, after that fifty percent mark… this book picked up speed! Thank the heaven’s above!! C.M. Stunich sent my heart on a freaking adrenaline induced roller coaster ride. From exceptional highs to undeniable lows, Bernadette, Vic, Hael, Oscar, Callum, and Aaron have officially and damn near been through it all! I can’t imagine what else can get thrown at Bernie and her men….

Bernadette is a WILD CARD! I never can guess what this girl is thinking. One minutes she’s cool as a cucumber, then the very next she’s seeking retribution from those who wronged her. She is as fierce as they come and I do believe she’s giving her boys a run for their money. People shouldn’t be fearing Havoc; they should be fearful of Bernadette and what she can achieve in the name of Havoc.

But Something inside me says that Oscar is going to have the greatest showdown among all the boys. Speaking of Oscar; it still stands, I’m the most intrigued by Oscar’s character. This man is a complete mystery to me. I think getting an insight into his thoughts with a few of his POV moments were my favorites. This man is DARK and I think he has a very high chance of overthrowing Victor’s king/boss status. You know what they say, the quiet ones are always the deadliest ones. I feel this darkness living just beneath his surface, and this darkness is begging to be set free. I feel sorry for the poor sucker who feels his wrath.

Let’s not forget to talk about the bombshell of a cliffhanger that was dropped at the end of Mayhem At Prescott High!!! You know the moment you turn on a boxing match and you have to wait for all the under card  fights to take place before the big money show starts….. Well that big money show just walked through the door reeking of violence and brutality…. And then the novel ended! I’ll be the first to admit if I would have read this last year when it first released there is no doubt about it I would have been seriously pissed off by this cliffhanger! And yet another reason I should be thankful I waited to read this series!

Overall, I’m loving the suspense-filled vibe that is this series. I honestly never know whats going to happen next. Every page turned is a mystery.

And let’s also not forget how freaking sexy this group of misfits are! Let me warn you now, if you aren’t a fan of Reverse Harem novels with menage moments, this book and series is not for you. If you don’t like a slight bdsm take on sexy time scenes, this book and series is not for you. If you aren’t a fan of deliciously dark romances with a heavy amount of violence, bullying, and sexual situations this is not the book or series for you. I, however, can’t get enough of it!!!

  1. I felt like the best thing about this one was that bombshell at the end. I was with you on the slow first half. I couldn’t decide if it needed to be edited down or what to make it better. I’m glad I wasn’t alone in thinking it was slower than the first two. I hope book 4 treats you well!
