Winter Simmons received the surprise of her life when she discovered the man she had been dating for the last two years was actually Viper, president of the Last Riders. A high school principal, Winter has no intention of ruining her reputation in the community to be with a man who betrayed her trust. Unforgiving, she turns her back on him, only to find that Viper is not the gentleman he portrayed.
Determined to find his brother’s killer, Loker James kept his identity as President of The Last Riders a secret from Winter. When the truth comes out, he is determined to make her see the real man who can control not only a group of dangerous bikers, but a woman whose life is a rulebook. Unable to prevent herself from being drawn into the very club she despises, Winter is about to lose everything important to her, unless Viper can prove she’s more than a moonlight run.

Viper wasn’t one of my favorite men the first time I read The Last Riders series, but I have to admit when it comes to reading it the second time around, I see a tad bit more potential in this man.
Viper is the president of The Last Riders MC.
For years Loker has been trying to find the man responsible for ending his brothers life.
He’s not proud of his past actions which includes snuggling up to Winter Simmons….
Who also happens to be the accused man’s cousin.
He’s not proud of lying to this woman for two years about his true self.
When the killer is finally revealed, Loker’s identity is also revealed and Winter shuts him out completely. But as we all know with the men in Jamie Begley’s stories…They won’t stand for being ignored and Winter will soon learn Viper isn’t to be messed with.
After Winter is brutally attacked and has a brush with the grim reaper himself, Viper has made it his mission to get her to see the real him, he’ll do everything in his power to keep Winter close and safe.
My Thoughts:
Winter and Viper’s story is a whirlwind of emotions. I have to admit though, I loved Viper but I wasn’t so crazy about Winter. She was also a tad bit wishy washy when it came to Viper and the sexy time scenes which made some moments in this novel quite uncomfortable to sit through.
With that being said, I have to again say, I really enjoyed Viper in this novel. I loved the sincerity he showed in the beginning of this novel. I loved the fact that when he played the part as Loker in the beginning, he never crossed the line with Winter when he was playing the part. Even though he wanted to, he never went there until she knew who he truly was. This gives him extra kudos from me.
Overall, given the minor issues I had with this novel the second time around, I have to say, this was a fun second time read for me. I can’t wait to read more!
I’m reading these novels based on Jamie Begley’s reading order!

Oh no! I suddenly have a strong feeling I’m going to need to purchase a box of tissues before reading Shade’s story. I’m already invested, he’s the one I’m the most intrigued about….right now.
