Kaylee Ryan saved the best for last!
I’m telling you, these Riggins Brothers put the swoon in swoony! These men will go to no lengths to keep their women happy and their children protected. Whew.. Kaylee Ryan wrote the hell out of this series. I definitely see myself coming back and rereading the books I read and binging on the books I haven’t yet read.
In My Own Words:
Marshall Riggins is the youngest of the Riggins clan. He sat for years and watched his brother’s find the infamous magic Stanley Riggins, their father, talked endlessly about when they were younger. Now as Marshall sees his older brother’s in love with their perfect match and babies galore, he is starting to question whether there is something to the tales his father shared in their younger years.
When Marshall sees single mother, Wren, at the pharmacy down the road, he offers a helping hand and pays for her five month old daughter’s prescription. His only recommendation is that she pay it forward one day. If she should ever see someone struggling and in need of a kind heart and a helping hand. Little did Marshall know, he just ran smack dab into his very own form of his father’s so-called magic.
My Thoughts:
I can’t get over how much Marshall and Wren’s story made me feel. So many emotions were pulled out of my heart throughout this novel. As I said above, Kaylee Ryan definitely saved the best for last! There were so many moments that had me swoony and a couple moments that had me clutching a tissue tight in my hand. I’m literally sitting here with a huge smile on my face.
I’m a sucker for the sweet moments! I couldn’t put this one down.
Marshall Riggins is the most kind hearted of all the brothers. If he sees someone in need he’s there with a helping hand or a way to put a smile on any face. I’m a sucker for the sweet and sensitive type hero, so to say I’ve been eagerly awaiting Marshall’s story is a huge understatement. This man damn near brought me to my knees. The immediate connection he felt, not only with Wren, but also her five month old daughter Madeline had me constantly fighting back tears. I loved those special moments between Madeline and Marshall. He was the daddy sent directly from Madeline’s very own guardian angel, there is no denying that fact.
Wren is a warrior for all that she’s been through in the past year. I’m not going to get into all of that due to spoilers. But through all that, it’s made her an amazing mother. Her only issue is she never sets aside time for herself. Her life revolves around her daughter. Until fate steps in and she meets a handsome stranger at the pharmacy who offers to help her out of a pinch and pays for her daughter’s medication. Never in her wildest dreams would she ever think the handsome stranger would be the one her heart and soul cry out for. My heart damn near flew from my chest the closer Marshall and Wren became. I’m talking serious tears!! I couldn’t control my emotions, those bitches were flying all over the place.
One factor of why I loved this book so much was the strong family bond. I’m a sucker for novels with small town feels and strong family ties. I loved the Riggins clan. From their playful banter to their heartfelt talks, this family has everything! And the fact they welcomed Wren and Madeline, two complete strangers, into their group with open arms really spoke to me about their character. This family is the exact reasoning behind why I love this series so much!
There was only one reason behind why I dropped half a star rating, there was a moment in this novel I felt Wren’s character was a bit too wishy washy for my liking, which caused a moment to drag on for a second or two. But aside from that single moment I loved everything else about this Marshall, Wren, and little Madeline’s story!
If you haven’t read Beat by Beat by Kaylee Ryan and you love strong families, single mothers, and swoony heroes in your romance I highly suggest you pick up this book! Hell, if you love strong families, swoony heroes, and feisty heroines, pick up the Riggins Brothers series.
